"I may or may not have fallen asleep more than once during a Heyday facial!"

Hi Talia! For starters – what do you do?

I help people eat healthier without hating their lives! And I do that by hosting my podcast, speaking at events, privately coaching people, making cooking videos in my kitchen and creating digital resources like this free 'eat more plants' class!

Can you tell us more about your startup, Party in My Plants? How did it come into fruition, and how does it align with your passions?

Party in My Plants was borne out my need to blend my two diehard passions: living healthfully and laughing. Before Party in My Plants, I was a stand up comedian. I wanted to use my knack for inducing laughter to inspire people to actually improve their lives! So I left the comedy clubs and built Party In my Plants as a way to do that.

How do you take care of yourself (this can mean mind, body, or both)?

By eating lotsa plants, of course! And also by asking myself with really everything I eat or do, "how will this make me feel?" and using that to guide my decisions about watching that extra SVU episode, skipping a run, reaching into the bread basket or not removing my makeup at night!

What is the very best part about getting a facial?

What ISN'T the best part about getting a facial?! The afterglow with lasts for weeks is amazing, the knowledge I receive about how to take care of my skin with my specific circumstances is helpful, and the warm towels, massages and yummy smells is relaxing. I may or may not have fallen asleep more than once during a Heyday facial…

Do you have a favorite Heyday product?

My go-to’s are the Naturopathica Calendula Essential Hydrating Cream and the Alchimie Forever Kantic Brightening Moisture Mask!

Has Heyday changed or altered your at-home routine?

Absolutely. I became really well versed in taking care of my inside through diet, but before Heyday I didn't know how to take care of my skin on the outside. I do keep my skin hydrated, but that's only one part of it, and I talk about lifestyle and habits with my Skin Therapist. There are so many things I’ve learned, including washing your makeup completely off before going to sleep, moisturizing every day, and reapplying SPF throughout the day. I now have the confidence to wear SPF and nothing else throughout the day, and that’s definitely a sensation that is new for me!

What’s your favorite skincare trick/ritual that you’ve learned?

Oh man. Umm, to get monthly facials because they make your skin look practically flawless (laughs), and to exfoliate way less frequently than I used to.

If you could soak in a giant bubble bath overlooking any setting, where would you be?

Earlier this year I was in Thailand and I'd do anything to go back there right now so I'm going to say a post-Thai massage bubble bath/pre-Thai dinner bath would be the dream.

What is your favorite summertime recipe?

Banana ice cream! It's so tasty and so easy. Take your slightly bruised bananas and stick them in the freezer. Once they're frozen, peel and toss 1.5 bananas in the food processor-- and voila! Creamy, flavorful, banana soft serve. I like to add chocolate chips, fresh blueberries, peanut butter, or just plain! It's the best summer treat.

What's a surprising fun fact about you?

Before I was remotely into healthy eating, my first AIM screen name was "greenapplegirly1" and green apples were the "theme" of my bat mitzvah so I guess me and plants were destined for one another.

Fill in the blank: ______day
