What do you do?
I edit books for toddlers, tweens, and teens (and, let's be real, plenty of adults) at Simon & Schuster. I also write picture books.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I feel like I've been a grown-up since age 12. The goal then, and now, is to be at ease with myself.
What's your way of taking care of yourself?
Mom instilled good habits in me at a very young age--plenty of exercise (she would wake me before sunrise to do crunches and to stretch), tons of water, loads of fruits and vegetables. Now, I do a mix of pilates, yoga, interval training, dance, and tennis--the variety keeps me motivated. Chiropractics keep me upright. Wine calms my nerves. Weekends away allow me to maintain a semblance of sanity. Monthly facials make me feel pretty.
I'm so impressed by the service at Heyday – the team there has given every detail its attention. The space, the music, the products, the atmosphere...they're all fantastic. Granted, I've only been treated by the brilliant Chrissy, but if she's representative of the rest of the team, you're in for a big treat!
Your favorite skincare hacks?
I've been mixing coffee grounds with coconut oil for a really great, nice-smelling body exfoliant.
