Her go-to skin tip?

A good night's rest and at least one cardio class a week to sweat it all out!

It’s safe to say that one of the best parts about New York City is how vastly different each neighborhood feels, filled with their own history, quirks, and culture. A part of Heyday Member Olivia’s job is to immerse herself in a community and understand it’s rhythm, values, and what lies beneath the surface (kinda like a Skin Therapist, right?) As the Culture Marketing Manager at the Hoxton Hotel, one of her main goals and initiatives is to properly integrate the hotel into the community (currently, Williamsburg), and reflect what makes the neighborhood so special.

“Not only do we want the hotel to properly reflect and represent the community, but I also find and work with brands and partners that do really wonderful things in the community and bring them to the forefront. We like to give smaller brands the exposure they deserve,” Olivia told us.

The job makes Olivia keen on looking out for New York City brands, and noticed Heyday popping up around the city. She was a little hesitant, as she had endured bad facials before, but warmed up to the idea when her friend reported back with a glowing review of our NoMad shop. Olivia came in for a facial and signed up to be a member on the same day! “I was instantly hooked,” she said. “The Tribeca shop is close to my apartment, so that’s my home base."

Olivia keeps a daily at-home routine and has her Heyday products sprinkled in. “I love the One Love Organics brand,” she said, “and Ursa Major face wipes.” She told us that coming in for her monthly Heyday appointment has not only been great for her skin, but has made her more conscious of how lifestyle factors can play a role in your skincare.

“I thought my skin was super sensitive, but I actually have sensitized skin! I’ve learned so much from my Skin Therapists. I love that we talk about the big picture – not just how to get rid of blackheads."

“I thought my skin was super sensitive, but I actually have sensitized skin! I’ve learned so much from my Skin Therapists. I love that we talk about the big picture – not just how to get rid of blackheads. We chat about how much water I’m drinking or what I’m doing after a workout and how I can implement small changes into my lifestyle to help my skin.”

When asked if she could get a facial anywhere in the world, she immediately knew her answer. “In the middle of the Amazon! I’ve been there before, and I’m ready to go back. It would be the most relaxing place to get a facial, and many ingredients you find in skincare products originate from the amazon. I could cut straight to the chase!”

Olivia has two go-to skin tips that she would pass on to any friend. “A good night's rest and at least one cardio class a week to sweat it all out,” she told us. “Feeling like you’re bringing everything to the surface and then washing and cleansing your face after is the best.”

We’re so happy that this brand guru stumbled upon us, and that we’ve become one of her local staples. See you next month, Olivia!
