Always give your skin a refresh and reset after a workout, especially if you don't have access to a shower.

In case you missed it this weekend, we felt the sweat and catharsis at The Class by Taryn Toomey in Tribeca with instructor Courtney Deri. The team invited us to chat afterwards about skincare as self-care and walk through a sample post-workout skincare routine.

Skin is the window to the body’s overall wellness and a natural link to all of your health efforts.


Be mindful
that even with “gentle” products, you can strip the skin of its natural moisture. Workout folks who wash their face more than just at morning and night should be cognizant of this.

Embrace sweat as the body’s natural detoxifying process. Just clear it off when the work is done.

Balance and simplicity are key to a strong routine.

A SAMPLE ROUTINE FOR THE WEEKEND WARRIOR

CLEANSE

A thoughtful creamy cleanser like the Grown Alchemist Olive Leave Plantago Cleanser won’t strip the skin, but will remove make up and debris. Once a week we like to create a foaming mask with One Love Organics Brand New Day + Vitamin B Cleanser for a deeper clean.

TONE

After a workout, reset the pH balance of the skin with a toner like Ursa Major’s Tonic or their Essential Facial Wipes, both featuring the same formula in two forms.

MOISTURIZE

Apply a balancing oil or serum to damp skin. We love the Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Oil and a balancing Moisturizer with SPF during the daytime.

PROTECT
